The polyphenol concentration in BergaMet supplements begins to work immediately. Since citrus bergamot works to maintain optimal normal health, healthy cholesterol levels and proper cardiovascular function, most people feel the optimal health and more energetic within a few weeks of regular use.

Citrus bergamot, the key ingredient in all BergaMet products, is the only natural compound that works simultaneously to support optimal normal cholesterol, triglyceride and blood glucose levels, and to regulate proper HDL-LDL cholesterol levels.

Experimental studies have recently revealed that bergamot extract may have a protective effect on brain tissues, and may support healthy regular brain and neurological function.

In studies to date, BergaMet appears to support and regulate optimal arterial health, and support the normal function of the most important measures of cardiovascular vessel health. This occurs regardless of any effects on blood cholesterol levels.

BergaMet works by activating AMPK, which is the metabolic trigger for the breakdown of fat and sugar in the body. AMPK is considered to be a key target in support of maintaining and regulating healthy weight and active metabolism.

Although bergamot includes some similar antioxidants to those in grapefruit, grapefruit also has a profound effect on the metabolic pathways within the liver. Thus, grapefruit is responsible for blocking or reducing the effect of many medications. On the other hand, bergamot does not appear to have the same effect on the metabolic function of the liver, and therefore appears safe to take with most prescription medications. Please consult your physician or qualified healthcare provider with any medical questions or concerns you may have.

It is important to take BergaMet before eating because BergaMet works by assisting in regulating cholesterol absorption in the gut, which it can best optimize if it is in your system before food enters. There is still somewhat of a positive effect to taking BergaMet after eating, though, so if you forget before a meal, you should still take it after instead. Remember that some is better than none, but do try to take BergaMet prior to a meal if possible.
